Cannot see text in menus on SAS - regression

Reported by: alis Owned by: Antoine Martin
Priority: critical Milestone: 0.8
Component: core Version: trunk

Description (last modified by Antoine Martin)

On the latest trunk r2131, the text is not visible on SAS windows' drop-down menus. The menus function properly, and I can select menu items, but their text is invisible -- the menubox appears as a blank white box with no text or separator lines in it.

On release 0.7.2, the menus display normally.

Digging a little bit, the regression looks to have been introduced somewhere between r2080 (works fine) and r2100 (menus blank) of the trunk.

The system is SLES11 SP2, with xpra running using Xvfb. I've attached a portion of the log showing the time range during which the menu was opened and displayed, as well as the entire log.

Package versions:

python-2.6.8-0.15.1
python-gtk-2.17.0-4.1
glibc-2.11.3-17.39.1
gtk2-2.18.9-0.20.18.1
xorg-x11-libxcb-7.4-1.20.34
xorg-x11-7.4-9.53.2
xorg-x11-server-7.4-27.66.1

Forgot to add -- the problem appears no matter which encoding is used (x264, vpx, rgb24, webp.)
