Description

Following #1773, related to #1778. See also #2356 and #2357.

Deal with the remaining issues from #1773:

  • control commands?
  • test file transfers
  • notification code needs to be moved to a source mixin
  • test coverage: #2356

Split the notification mixin: r27429 + r27431.
